Clik here to view.[April 2016] The new Microsoft Dynamics AX, which became available early March, will offer on-premise and private cloud options by the end of the year. Microsoft will also launch the availability of Power BI content packs and entity store, an upgrade strategy from AX 2009 to the new AX, improvements to mobile app experiences and the use of Cortana Intelligence Suite products.
Public, private and on-premise cloud
Once Azure Stack, Windows Server 2016 and SQL Server 2016 become available, Azure will have the ability to be deployed in a data center like an OS.
“You will be able to run AX in your data center or your managed service provider’s data center, providing one code base and three deployment options, with the power of the cloud,” said Cloud Business Solutions Platform General Manager Sri Srinivasan. “And you have the option to leverage all the tooling we provide for the public cloud offering in LCS yourselves. You can use it through LCS to manage your environment.”

Srinivasan says an upgrade process to take users of Dynamics AX 2009 to the new AX is in preview now and will become available this fall. In addition to this upgrade strategy, the Power BI packs and Cortana integrations, AX will feature the ability to use task guides to record a set of steps that can be automatically converted into a simple mobile app on multiple mobile platforms without writing code. It will also include new workspaces.
